Thix is a UNIX kernel originally developed in 1995. Since then little progress has been made with the kernel. As of December 2007 Paul Hulme has taken over the maintenance and development of the Thix Kernel and OS. The aim now is to provide an up-to-date Kernel with support for many current packages from the GNU project.

The Thix kernel is very complete, incorporating:
virtual memory
demand paging
protection
swapping
